The Lois Payne Match Play 
Lois Payne (1926-2020) and her late husband Frank were among the founding members of the Glendale when the Club first opened in 1961. A prolific player who competed into her 90s, Lois played in 7 Canadian tournaments, 53 Provincial tournaments and an incredible 73 Edmonton Open tournaments. Over her amazing career, Lois won 11 Glendale championships, 1 Edmonton Ladies Senior title, 3 Edmonton Super Senior titles, 3 Saskatchewan Open titles, 2 Jasper Park Totem tournaments, 1 NWT Open, 2 Masters Games Gold Medals and 2 Canada Summer Games Gold Medals. Lois loved her family, her friends, life and golf. She remains an inspiration to all who were lucky enough to have met her. The Lois Payne Match Play is a great way to celebrate an amazing lady who was a staple at The Glendale . If you ever had the privilege to meet her you were left with a lasting memory.
