Tarp removal and more

Tarp removal is now complete and we are happy to say that everything wintered well. There was select vole damage around areas where the blow tubes were over the winter. Here are a few pictures taken from Thursday.

12 green

3 green

As you are aware the grow-in process of 7 green in underway. Turf Care removed the bubble wrap and tarp on March 29th only to replace it with a light green permeable tarp. This tarp allows more sunlight to penetrate which in return speeds up the photosynthetic process while at the same time trapping warm air in and protecting it from cool nightime temperatures. Roots are just starting to dive which is a good sign. Turf Care has been monitoring soil and air temperatures underneath and when soil temperatures hit and stay above 5 degrees roots will really start to take off. Night time temperatures have the biggest impact on this.

A look underneath the tarp.
